Discovering Paddock Paradise boarding

First horse

Having bought my first riding horse a few years ago I quickly  discovered the complexity surrounding  the wellbeing of these animals. First, reality hit me when my mare was loosing shoes on a  weekly basis and  my farrier couldn't keep up with putting  them back on.

With this came my decision to transition her to barefoot .With a complete lack of knowledge of diet, management and correct trim, this was a time filled with research, study and tears. My aim was to help her improve from the state of being  constantly crippled on any surface other then grass paddock. With this research to find  answers I  discovered a book called ,,Paddock Paradise'' by Jaime Jackson. My own Paddock Paradise  story begins with this book, some plastic posts,  tape and battery operated electric fencing.

Years had passed and many horses have arrived  to my farm with different health struggles.Jaime's  "four pillars of heath'' have  proven  to work in all different conditions on a wide variety of horse  breeds from Shetland  to ex-racehorses.

Track livery Ireland

This is a first of a kind Track Livery in  Ireland.

From few white posts to:

- fully surfaced interlocking  track system

-enrichment spots

-25x40m  all weather sand arena

-all the necessary  equipment

-loafing areas (outdoor sand box, sand surfaced tracks ,indoor soft bedding )

This has slowed me to  trimm my own horses for the past 2 years and in the process ,I have become an ISNHCP student . I am well equipped to support you  on your and your horses journey to create sound barefoot horses, so you don't have to walk alone like I did .

Wild Horse Model by Jaime Jackson

In 1982 farrier Jaime Jackson entered the Great Basin in search for ''nature's model'' for a perfect hoof. After 4 years observing  wild horses in home ranges and studying their robust, healthy hooves ,he  gifted  the world  a model how to care for and trim domestic horses to achieve this characteristics.  With Jaime's  Four Pillars model which includes NATURAL DIET, NATURAL BOARDING, NATURAL TRIM AND NATURAL RIDING, we are are able to mimic that environment and care where horses thrive.

Imitating wild horses who are constantly on the move,  our Paddock Paradise system with its various surfaces and enrichment areas  makes their days interesting and active compared to traditional boarding of square grass  paddocks. With our understanding of the natural  diet pillar, we provide them with the nutrients to build disease resistant bodies . Following the natural boarding pillar we provide  a mirroring of the wild habitat
